Meriç River Industrial, Commercial and Residential Water Supply Project (State Hydraulic Works (DSİ)

Date:April 2019-Ongoing

Location:Turkey

Work Details: Organized industrial zones located around Çorlu and Çerkezköy plan to take water from the Meriç River and convey it through a 113 km transmission line to a treatment plant near Çorlu. Since meeting the industrial zones’ demand of 7.2 m³/s during July and August is not feasible solely from the Meriç River, in winter months, more than 7.2 m³/s of water will be drawn from the river. The alternatives, including constructing three new reservoirs or raising the existing dams, will be thoroughly evaluated in a planning report.
